Journey to cheradip

Cheradip means a small part of land parted from main land. There are no history found about its partition .it was parted from Saint Martin island. So people called it cheradip. whenever tidal flow became low, a narrow path can be seen which connect the parted land to main land. cheradip contain only mangrove forest as it drown by sea water during tidal flow. 

There is No permanent residence. Some fisherman made temporary shelter for their daily use. They mainly used these lands for drying different types of sea fish, only stay at day time. As it is a tourist spot also. They brought coconut, drinking water, made fish fry according to customer choice as a part time business. Tourist can buy these things from them but at high price. This island is surrounded by coral riff. Most of it is dead. People say, this island made of dead coral. 

Water around the island is so clean that under water object can be seen clearly. As it is surrounded by dead coral riff, it dangerous to roam around. Accident frequently happens. If the tidal flow is too low then you will definitely imagine that the dead coral riff have reached the horizon. Sea go far away from view site’s was fortunate enough to visit that place second times with my mother. Our journey start from 9.30 is after the breakfast.

 It was indeed a beautiful morning.when we reached the seaport, saw a boat haired for our journey. it only took 20 min for us to reach. By the time, we reached there; it was a time for lower tidal flow. So we had to keep our boat far away from the land. Small boats were haired to take us to cheradip. it was a hilarious moment, when we have to move from boat to the smaller one in deep water. It took our breath away, when the smaller boat start to shake and the lining of the boat reach the water level. Boatman told us not to move and set still.

 After reaching there, we found it difficult to step on dry land. We need to jump on water. After reaching their safely, we roam around the island’s have collected lots of dead coral and sea shell. We cannot observe the whole island due to shortage of time.

 It was my long time wish to watch the joining line or place of the two islands but it never happened. We had to move from there before sunset. During these journeys, everyone should carry drinking water, sunblock etc
